Who Is Miami-Dade Authority

Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX), was created in 1994 by the the State of Florida and the Board of County Commissioners of Miami-Dade county. MDX was established to implement innovative transportation solutions that would improve driving in Miami-Dade County. MDX manages five major arteries in the county:

  • bulletState Road 112 (Airport Expressway)
  • bulletState Road 836 (Dolphin Expressway)
  • bulletState Road 874 (Don Shula Expressway)
  • bulletState Road 878 (Snapper Creek Expressway)
  • bulletState Road 924 (Gratigny Parkway)

Together, this system consists of 35 center miles of roadway and carries more than 1,000,000 users each day. We are user-funded, not tax-funded. And we are committed to moving forward together, by improving our roads, the local economy and your overall quality of life.
